Your tickets and getting in

Where your ticket lives, how to save it to your phone, and what happens at the gate.

When you buy a ticket through Grofomo, your confirmation email is your ticket. It arrives from the event's name "via Grofomo", with a subject like "Your tickets for ...", and it holds everything you need to get in.

What you get

  • A QR code in the email. This is the thing that gets scanned at the gate, and it works with no phone signal, so it will not let you down in a field. If your order has several tickets, you get one card per ticket, each with its own QR.
  • Wallet passes. Where the event has them enabled, buttons let you add each ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, which is the easiest way to find it in a queue.
  • A printable PDF, attached to the email, with one page per ticket.
  • A calendar invite, plus links for directions to the venue.

Keep the email. If you would rather not rely on it, save the wallet pass or print the PDF; any of the three works on the door.

The ticket page

The email also links to a web page for your ticket, showing the event branding, your ticket type, the doors time, the venue address and a large QR code, with buttons to add it to your wallet, add it to your calendar, get directions or print it. No login is needed: the link itself is the key, so treat it like the ticket it is and only share it with the person using it.

At the gate

Show the QR code, from the email, the wallet pass, the ticket page or the printout. One QR admits one person, so if you bought for friends, send each of them their own ticket rather than passing a screenshot around: it is faster, and a screenshot of a ticket you have already sent on will not scan.

A ticket can be refused if it has been cancelled or refunded, if it was already sent to someone else, or if it is for a different day of a multi-day event. Your ticket page will say "not currently valid for entry" if something is wrong, so it is worth opening it before you travel. If you think that is a mistake, the event organiser is the one who can fix it.

Paying in instalments

If you bought on a payment plan, your tickets are issued straight away and the remaining payments are taken automatically from the same card. We email you before each payment and again if one fails, and you can see the full schedule in your confirmation email. Keep the card valid: if a plan is never completed, the tickets stop working. Contact the event organiser if a payment has gone wrong.

Refunds and changes

Refunds, cancellations and anything to do with the event itself are handled by the organiser, not by Grofomo, so get in touch with them directly. The one change you can make yourself is sending a ticket to someone else, which is also how you correct the name on a ticket.
